Toronto FC defender Steven Beitashour underwent abdominal surgery for an injured pancreas, the team announced Thursday.

Beitashour was hurt during Tuesday night’s Canadian Championship win over the Montreal Impact.

The 30-year-old has started in 13 games for TFC this season.

His return date is currently unknown, but the team did say it would issue an update in the coming days.
